2025-26 CRFO
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Treasurer
Levi Gill
I’m a proud College of the Redwoods alumnus, and my career at CR began as a math tutor before I joined the faculty as an Associate in 2009. In 2016, I became a full-time mathematics professor, and I now divide my teaching between the Del Norte campus and Pelican Bay State Prison. My interest in union work comes from a deep appreciation for the advocacy CRFO has provided for faculty. I bring my skills in mathematics, along with my knowledge of CR’s budget and salaries, to help support the work of the union.

CRFO President; FACCC Board Member
Michelle Woods Haggerty
Professor of Psychology at CR since 2002. President of CRFO since 2018. I fell in love with the discipline of Psychology while in high school and that admiration has not waivered. My educational background includes a BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and an MA in Psychology from Western Michigan University. I have continued my education in recent years by taking classes at Harvard Extension School in various areas of Neuroscience. Clinical Psychology is where my career began, working for 14 years in various settings including in-patient, residential, private practice, schools and family homes. I specialized in working with children and adolescents who were diagnosed with mental, developmental, educational and neurological disorders. The move to teaching full time 21 years ago, was a natural progression for me as it allows me to share my love of the discipline with students considering their life path. Psychology is a discipline that is ever evolving, based on how we can examine the human experience. Being a curious and critical analyzer of the discipline is what I try to model for students. I grew up in Michigan to a family that has a long background in union work. My grandfather was a union leader and all my uncles on both sides of the family were involved in unions while working in either automotive factories or law enforcement. Most weddings and graduation parties in my family were at UAW halls. As a first-generation college graduate, I have benefited significantly from higher education, and I want to ensure accessibility to that pathway for everyone. Student learning conditions are faculty working conditions. Advocating for faculty therefore is intertwined with advocating for students. CRFO is committed to the community at our college which is ensured by a stable and fair contract. I love working at College of the Redwoods and want all our faculty to feel supported and appreciated for the work that they are doing.

Vice-President
Erik Kramer
Hello, I’m a physics instructor at College of the Redwoods and have been here since 2009. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended community college after high school. I discovered how cool physics is while in high school and went on to major in it in community college. As a PhD student at UC Santa Cruz, I conducted research in grand unified field theory and string theory. I enjoy connecting physics concepts to the commonplace things we all observe in our lives. I’m drawn to union work out of a desire for fairness. I like to participate in continually pursuing fair compensation and working conditions for all faculty.

Grievance
Natalia Margulis
I have been teaching Art at CR since 2015, becoming involved in union work around 2019, and it has been one of the more rewarding aspects of my time here. Being directly engaged in contract negotiations aligns with my “if you want to see change, do it yourself” mentality. Working on issues that directly benefit faculty experience keeps me on my toes and feels challenging and meaningful. Grievance likewise is technical and detail-oriented. We work closely with our legal counsel to make sure we approach it with diligence. Statewide, faculty face common issues shaped by budgets, leadership changes at both state and federal levels, and local district decisions. Being active in the union allows us to face these challenges together.

Chief Negotiator
John Johnston
I began negotiating on behalf of CRFO in 2006 and have since served in a range of leadership roles, including Vice President, President, and Grievance Officer. For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Chief Negotiator. In this role, I work closely with faculty to identify bargaining priorities, study contracts across California’s community colleges, and build teams that represent both full-time and part-time faculty. I guide these teams through the negotiation process, developing strategies and leading discussions with the District to ensure the voices and interests of all CR faculty are represented.

Secretary; Associate Faculty Rep
Shannon Mondor
I have been teaching English part-time at CR since the fall of 2008. I have been involved with the union in various roles as the secretary, on negotiation teams, as a facilitator of negotiations, and as the part-time faculty elected representative since 2017. I am also the CCCI part-time representative for Northern California on their Executive Board, serving in my second two-year term. I am drawn to union work because of how important it is to mitigate the exploitation of part-time faculty and because of how fulfilling and empowering it is to collaborate with colleagues on improving our working conditions so that we can preserve and protect student learning conditions. I'm excited to learn more about the legislative process and how faculty expertise and voices can positively influence legislation so that it meets the needs of community college learners and workers. My proudest accomplishment to date was my recent work on the team negotiating for part-time faculty health benefits at CR. It took more than a year, but CRFO secured those important benefits for eligible part-time faculty beginning in 2025.

Career and Technical Education Rep
Derek Glavich
I have been employed at CR for 10 years and have had the honor of co-representing CE with the Union for the past 6. I enjoy working with my Union colleagues and am proud of the work we have done to create good working conditions here at CR.

Health, AJ, Physical Education, & Athletics Rep
Maggie White
I have been a faculty member in the Kinesiology Department for 28 years. I served as head softball coach for 25 of those years, mentoring student-athletes and helping to build a strong athletics program. I chair the Distance Education Committee and serve on the CRFO Executive Committee since 2018. I value my union involvement as a way to stay informed, represent athletics on campus, and contribute to faculty advocacy. I think the union as essential to a strong academic community and am proud to stand with my CRFO colleagues in this work.

Non-Teaching and Student Development Rep
Matt McCann
My name is Matt McCann and I have been a counselor at CR since 2013. I have been involved in academic advising for our students during that time. I have been particularly involved with academic advising for our athletes, where I initiated the Cap and Gown program that led to greatly improved academic outcomes for our student-athletes. I have also been able to use my experience as a therapist to assist the college's Behavioral Intervention Team.

Math, Science and Social Science Rep
Jon Pace
I am an alumni of CR and have been teaching here in the math department since 2009 as an associate faculty, and since 2017 as a full-time faculty. I have been a member of our union since the beginning, but I had never taken an active roll until Fall 2025. I am excited to represent our faculty interests from the Science, Math, Climate, and Conservation Division and work with a great goup of colleagues.

Del Norte /PBSP Rep
Dr. Laurrie McKendry
I have been at College of the Redwoods for two years and am now starting my third. The 2025–2026 academic year marks my second year serving on the CRFO committee. Union work keeps me informed on important issues while also giving me the opportunity to share updates and support faculty in Del Norte. I value the collaborative spirit of this work and the chance to help strengthen communication across our college community.
